Visitors from Vegas

Today we hosted Nathan's Aunt Adele and Uncle Victor.
Although we've seen each other few times since, the last time they visited our home was when we lived in married student housing at BYU . . . . . more than 11 years ago. The last time Nathan visited their home was during a professional conference.

They are retired and staying out of the Vegas summer heat visiting different parts of the country. Not far from here for the weekend, they called to see if we could get together.. We attended our ward together and brought them home for our traditional "just home from church meal" PANCAKES.

We talked about food storage, blogging, serving in a Spanish speaking ward, their recent travels, two new grand-babies, and much more. They invited us to their cabin and we found out Vic is 193 centimeters tall.

It was delightful to share a few moments with them. And that's what it felt like, because all too soon, they were gone. Thanks for coming out of your way to see us!

First visitors of the summer

This weekend we had visitors.
I hope they didn't catch the cold that has swept through, including fevers, cough, and sore throat. Ed described a sore throat as his "teeth" hurting. 

They came to attend a professional conference, getaway, visit other local friends, see where we live, and let cousins play. All of those were accomplished. 
We also took them to Old Town, but there happened to be a large motorcycle rally, so not really our crowd. After "Freakshow Tattoos & Body Piercing" handed my hubby a business card, we decided we weren't going to stay long.
We took them to Woolly Mammoth Park, showed them the temple site, and opening day at the pool. They also saw some great things in the city to the south, which we did not join due to unseasonably high fevers. 
We also spent time sewing, cooking, and laughing at memories and each other. The men went running up high hills early in the morning and joked about how they were going to go running twice that day. (They didn't). We almost fit around one table, but decided to let two children at a time have a break from the crowd.
